Blue Marine Foundation is a charity dedicated to restoring the ocean to health by addressing overfishing, one of the world’s biggest environmental problems. With projects and partners across the globe, Blue Marine Foundation is working towards the goal of protecting 30% of the world’s ocean by 2030.


Overview

We work in partnership with Blue Marine Foundation across all integrated programmes, including campaign strategy, communications and social messaging and lobbying.

The brief

Our challenge is to simplify, strategically advise and manage all of Blue Marine Foundation’s global campaigns across social and earned media relations, which includes negotiating exclusives, developing media alerts, hijacking the news, reaching key audiences, and building the profiles of Blue experts.

The solution

Since starting work in 2023, significant strides have been made in marine conservation.

We have announced Greece as the first European country to ban bottom trawling in marine parks; taken legal action against the UK government for allowing overfishing; celebrated Blue women for saving the ocean on International Women’s Day, and launched ‘The Sea we Breath’ Virtual Reality experience into UK schools.



We’ve secured consistent, positive coverage for Blue Marine - landing stories in The Guardian, Forbes, Mail Online and The Independent - reaching an audience of over 4.81 billion through earned media. On social, we have reached an engaged audience of 1.6m and achieved a CTR of 3.51& and a video view rate of 70%.
